When you need solutions to address personal emergencies, United Way 2-1-1 is your 3-digit, one-stop connection. Dialing the three digits 2-1-1 connects you to information and trained referral specialists who have access to a comprehensive database of thousands of resources that can best meet a caller’s needs. 2-1-1 targets the general populations in several Georgia counties – Baldwin, Bibb, Crawford, Hancock, Houston, Jasper, Jones, Macon, Monroe, Peach, Putnam, Twiggs, Washington and Wilkinson. Bilingual staff and the AT & T Language Line provide multi-lingual assistance.
In an emergency, specialists can refer you to sources to supply basic needs such as food banks, clothing closets, shelters, rent & utility assistance and more.
Physical & mental health resources are also available: affordable insurance programs, medical lines, support groups, counseling programs, drug & alcohol intervention, rehabilitation, employment support, tax and other financial assistance, transportation, support for those with disabilities, adult day centers, Meals on Wheels programs, home health care, support for families, mentors and tutorial services, and more.
