Too Good for Violence : What is Too Good? - Too Good is comprehensive drug and violence prevention education. When followed by Too Good for Drugs & Violence High School, Too Good for Drugs K-8 and Too Good for Violence K-8 comprise a consistent, sequential and comprehensive K-12 prevention education program designed to teach kids that they are indeed too good for drugs and violence. Taught in a classroom setting and intended to benefit all students, Too Good K-12 programs effectively reduce risk factors and build protective factors that all kids need, and provide the basis for a safe, supportive and respectful learning environment. Too Good also offers the after-school program to extend prevention education beyond the school and into the community.
Too Good is science-based programming. Too Good programs are based on an accepted Theory of Change. They use strategies and teach key behavioral skills that research has shown to be related to good decision making and positive outcomes. Too Good programs are proven effective in evaluations that apply rigorous, systematic and objective procedures to obtain reliable and valid program data across evaluators, across multiple measurements and across studies.
Too Good is User-Friendly Teaching Materials. Too Good programs have been developed by and for classroom teachers. Using role-plays, games and other age-appropriate activities, they are easy to use and fun to teach. Too Good programs provide background information, extensive resources, scripted lessons, teaching materials and lesson extenders-everything educators need to make the lessons effective.

Coaching Boys to Men

The boys in your life need your time and energy. Your son, grandson, nephew, younger brother. The boys you teach, coach and mentor. All need you to help them grow into healthy young men.
Boys are swamped with influences outside of the home - from friends, the neighborhood, television, the internet, music, the movies... everything they see around them. They hear all kinds of messages about what it means to "be a man" - that they have to be tough and in control. There are numerous conflicting and some harmful messages being given to boys about what constitutes "being a man" in a relationship.
Boys need your advice on how to behave toward girls. Boys are watching how you and other men relate to women to figure out their own stance towards girls. So teach boys early, and teach them often that there is no place for violence in a relationship.

Agressors, Victims and Bystanders

This publication is part of the Teenage Health Teaching Modules, a comprehensive health education curriculum for middle and high school students. This module analyzes habits of thought that promote, allow for, or prevent violence. In addition to considering the behaviors and motivations of people who commit acts of violence, the module addresses the roles that victims and bystanders play in violent situations. It explores how all three groups can respond differently to conflict. In 12 sessions, students learn and practice conflict-resolution skills that enable them to stay safe while maintaining self-respect and respect for others.
